As we bid adieu to 2011 and look forward to the new year, there is something to be said for taking the time to look back so that you can move forward.
First I want to take the time to thank all of my 2011 clients who I now call friends for your continued support of our breeding program by investing in one of our young prospects or breeding your mare to our stallion Noble GF. This business would not be possible without you and I greatly appreciate your faith in us.
One of the best aspects of this business is all of the great people that I meet throughout the year. I am so fortunate that people who started out as clients, I now call friends. I enjoy all of the emails, photos, videos and phone calls that I receive keeping me posted as their youngsters grow and being able to share in their success.
In 2011 two of our Noble sons had a very successful show season. Nick Phillips 2 year old colt Fainero ADP started out the year winning the Rainbow Royal IALHA 2 year old colt class, followed up by being named IALHA Region One Champion 2 year old colt and later that month placing 4th out of 15 2 year old colts at Feria del Caballo in the City of Industry PRE horse show. To learn more about Fainero ADP visit his facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fainero-ADP/209240442430778
Santo ADP was expertly handled by Howard Peet at the Celebration of the PRE horse show in Las Vegas and took home the blue for the United States Dressage Federation Dressage Sport Horse in-hand class, then to come back and win Best Movement and Reserve Champion in the yearling morphology class for his owners Adrienne LaFar and Bill Taylor of Xavier Farms (website coming soon).
We made a few changes to our broodmare band in 2011. Our beautiful mare Sincera went to Terry Waechter who had an offer made on her and she is now a much adored dressage horse and doing very well. She and her owner or trainer will be out in the show ring in 2012, so be sure to watch for them.
Our lovely mare Daroca found a wonderful new home and is now a happy dressage horse and weekend trail partner for her new owner Dee. Daroca was not backed at the time she was sold and Dee took the time and backed Daroca here on our farm. This is impressive because Dee works full time and lives about an hour away from us. A tribute to the Spanish horse and Dee.
Our 2011 foal crop saw two of our youngsters headed for the Northeast. Tassajara is now an Ohio girl and is part of an excellent PRE dressage based breeding program owned by Diana Nicklas. Visit Dianas website at: Hollyhock Farm Andalusians, www.hfandalusians.com.
Galeo now calls Michigan home and he will be the future herd sire and dressage competition partner for his new owner Pam. Galeo will help bring in new bloodlines to that area and give breeders in the region greater access to a high quality stallion. Visit Pam's website at: Starstruck Arabians, www.starstruckarabians.com.
Noble had a fantastic show season with his trainer Michael Etherly at Third level this past year. We could not be more proud of these two. Winning many of his classes and the USPREA High Point along with being the highest scoring PRE stallion in California at Third level at the CDS Championships and bringing home the USDF All-Breed Award in the Open division as well. Noble is currently one of the top ranked dressage PRE stallions showing in the United States. Michael is very busy polishing up the demanding work required of Fourth level and Prix St. Georges and this year is going to be a very exciting show season for them.
This past year we have added two new mares to the herd. Barcelona KR comes from our good friend Betsy Ketcham. Barcelona was imported in-utero from Spain and is out of her fabulous mare Electra (Ebanisto) and is by the Qualified stallion Kefren who resides in Spain.
Fugitiva comes from Edwin Pauneto and we can't thank him enough for the opportunity to own this fabulous mare. Fugitiva is out of Divina (Ebanisto) and is by the Qualified stallion Fugitivo. She is currently in foal to Arcetijo JIM and is due in late summer. She is currently being backed under saddle and will go back into training after weaning her foal, so look for her in the show arena in 2013.
What's in store for 2012?
We are expecting 5 foals this year, so doubt it will be a busy year for me. We are excited to welcome our first cross from the Book 1 approved Swedish Warmblood mare Beija Flor who is due in mid-May.
Solena (Ebanisto), Skylar (Navarre GF) and Palena (Favorito D) will all be expecting foals by Noble and they will start arriving by mid-March. Followed up by Fugitiva (Fugitivo) who is in foal to the impressive Arcetijo JIM for early August.
I will be offering special pre-weaning prices and term payments to qualified buyers again this year. This is an excellent opportunity to affordably purchase a young prospect which several of my clients took advantage of in 2011. Also, this will be the last foal crop by Noble until 2013, so don't miss out.
We will be saying good-by to Palena this year. This wonderful mare has given me such lovely offspring, but she has done her job as mom and will now be a much adored riding horse. We will be offering Skylar MHF for sale this year as well. Skylar will have basic under saddle training and can go on to be either a fabulous riding partner or add some color, perhaps even black into a breeder's program. If desired as a broodmare, Skylar will be sold with a breeding to Noble GF or his Homozygous Black son, Fainero ADP.
I wish everyone a successful, happy and prosperous New Year.
